A scientific network for data and knowledge sharing on wild boar

EUROBOAR is an open project promoted by European research institutes to investigate the biology and the movement ecology of wild boar (Sus scrofa) in their different habitats and management regimes. The network is part of EUROMAMMALS and replicates the approach developed with the EURODEER project.

EUROBOAR is an open project and anyone is welcome to join. If you study wild boar or other european ungulate species and have movement data or other kind of data to share with us, or are simply interested in the project, please get in contact.
According to EUROBOAR terms of use, data can be accessed only by those who contribute with data of some kind. The use of data is always bounded to preliminary agreement with data owners.
EUROBOAR financial resources come from the voluntary contributions of each partner. On top of this, in the last years Vectronic Aerospace GmbH has generously sponsored many of the EURODEER activities. EURODEER is currently applying for granting opportunities and collaborations in this sense are very welcome.
No, you don't have to. Participation is free and the goal is to create a network to produce collaborative science. That said, in addition to a scientific coordinator, a team made of a database developer and 1 data curator works part time on the project to update the platform, run data quality check and support groups for specific analysis. They are paid with the money coming from the sponsor and the voluntary contributions from partners, so everyone is encouraged to contribute according to his financial possibilities.
There is one umbrella project (EUROMAMMALS) and a set of species-specific projects and database that are strictly connected. EUROBOAR and EURODEER are two of them.
